Role objectives

To proactively develop relationships with funds, financial institutions and banks active in the commodity trading space with a view on expanding GM&T’s structured products offering, hedging and risk management services and access to capital

Duties & Responsibilities

  • In cooperation with banks/funds develop new financial structures that would allow GM&T to extend term and enable to transact over less liquid portions of the commodities markets
  • Develop new products such as prepayments, counterparty and portfolio credit enhancement with the associated third party capital involvement
  • Explore cooperation and product structure with infrastructure and pension fund managers looking for exposure to commodity traded markets globally
  • Build strategic relationships with core internal business partners e.g. Gas & Power Structured Trading teams, Environmental Products etc.
  • Develop and ensure consistent application of a strategic decision process
  • Production of management reports and presentations
  • Ensure compliance with risk management governance policies and procedures.

  • Languages: fluency in English (verbal and written) is essential; fluency in Russian (verbal and written) would be a distinct advantage.

Experience

  • Proven, substantive and demonstrable business development experience in the energy industry
  • Excellent understanding of the energy industry and marketing and trading activity specifics (eg system operation, products, customers and counterparties)
  • Experience of leading and motivating a team of business development professionals
  • General understanding of the regulatory framework is an advantage.

Education

  • Educated to degree level, masters preferable, or equivalent experience
