As a member of the Energy Procurement Desk, the Flexible Trading analyst is responsible for transacting with our flex customers, working closely with commercial functions to support business plans and providing in-depth market analysis to our customers.

Role objectives

As a member of the Energy Procurement Desk, the Flexible Trading analyst is responsible for transacting with our flex customers, working closely with commercial functions to support business plans and providing in-depth market analysis to our customers.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor customer positions and transact with our flex customers
  • Perform trade entry whilst maintaining a high standard of data accuracy
  • Work with wider commercial teams to deliver margins in line with financial forecasts
  • Support the development of systems and processes required to deliver a market-leading customer Flexible products platform
  • Create and maintain strong, collaborative customer/broker relationships
  • In conjunction with the Risk team, develop and execute risk frameworks to manage the market risks associated with Flexible products
  • Develop counterparty level SLAs including detailed frameworks and internal processes aimed at mitigating operational risk
  • Develop market-leading reporting suites
  • Utilise data analytics to identify areas of gross margin generation
  • Develop robust and collaborative customer relationships
  • Present information on energy markets to sales teams and external customers
  • Support innovation in internal and external processes
  • Support the billing of Gazprom Energy’s flex portfolio
  • To be aware of and comply with all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Gazprom Energy Data Protection policy, Equal Opportunities policy, and the Email and Internet Acceptable Usage Policy, in addition to Fire and Health and Safety Regulations.
  • The role holder may also be required to carry out any other duties within the scope and purpose of this role as requested by their line manager and in line with business needs

  • Experience of stakeholder management with proven negotiation skills.

  • Be able to cope in a high pressure environment
  • Excellent IT skills; programming experience in VBA/SQL/python would be beneficial

 

Experience

  • Excellent understanding of the UK/European energy industry
  • Any work experience in UK/EU Energy markets is welcome but not mandatory to the spec.
  • Good understanding of the mechanics behind flex commodity calculations

 

Education

  • Degree level (or equivalent) education required.
  • Project management qualifications such as LEAN, Prince2
